I knowwwwww that the excitement is building. One more day and The Game of Thrones season three begins. My mom and I have been counting the days since last year. LOL There is nothing I don't like about this show but my favorite is the king of the White Walkers. He is beautiful!!
Now my birthday is next month but my mom sent my birthday gift way early and I LOVE IT!!

Yes this poster is mine. I took this photo from the internet and the photo doesn't show the intense detail. My poster is not just on slick paper it is like a woven material. I will frame this and hang it above my work area. How lucky am I? Thanks mom.

THE BIG REVEAL

Hi Everyone!

 

Today is the big reveal.... Nnooooo not my Rivoli come back necklace silly.... my gall stones.

Ahh ha ha ha gottcha.

 

OK so I did get the call today to pick up my gallstones. Yes I will be making some sort of art with them. They come in a plastic jar with formalin which if formaldehyde. So all the little stones are still in the jar. I really wanted to show you the larger stones.

 (I am sitting her giggling at the thought of showing the world my gallstone, how weird am I?)

 but you guys asked.

 

I think they are kind of pretty and the tops look like they were starting to polish on their own.

They are porous but I don't think I will have any trouble creating with them. The two larger stones measure around 25mm the smaller one about 18mm, OUCH!!! LOL

 

Have a good laugh everyone!!!

FLATWORK IN EPIC INDIE BOOK FAIR

Sarah, from Saturday Sequins , holds this amazing book fair that features self publishers, as myself, who have written creative, inspirational, and exquisite books. I started self publishing in the mid 1980's. My first books were very unique cook books. I will tell you that story some day. In the early 1990's I was approached by two different publishing companies to write bead instructional books. HOW PROUD AM I?

Hi Everyone!

 

As most of you know my kids and grandkids protect the US through their service in the US Army, the US Air Force and the US Marines. My love and thanks to my kids and all the men and women who serve to protect us.

 

So how proud am I?

 

This is my granddaughter Koral Marie who is now in the US Air Force reserves

 

 My daughter April Dawn and husband Dax Staff Sgt US Marine

These are my three grand kids from my son who served in the US Army in Desert Storm

The baby boy Isaac, Koral Marie and Troy Drake who just joined the US Air Force.

 

Yeah I am pretty proud!

WICKED WEATHER WEDNESDAY

Hi Everyone!

 

EEEKKKKK it is wicked weather here. The wind is shaking the house and the rain? Well let's just say buckets don't even come close. LOL

Good day to be inside with homemade soup on the stove. Think that is exactly what I will do.

 

My house is situated between the ocean about 1 mile down the road and the river which is a few block on the other side. So when the weather gets like this we get hit pretty hard.

 

 I am off to start the soup and get some beading done today.

WORD VERIFICATION

Hi Everyone!

Trying to take it easy today.  I attempted some house cleaning and... well ... that is NOT what I am suppose to be doing after gallbladder surgery. LOL

So I got my reading list up today. SHOCKER! it rarely comes up for me. However, as I am commenting I notice that word verification has changed and I CAN NOT see the words. The black splotch with white letters or visa versa just doesn't work for my eye balls.

 

OK so I only have one eye ball necklace.

 

I don't have a problem with this type

 

And this is perfect for me

 

But this???? REALLY Blogger???

 

I have not found if you can choose which type of word verification or if blogger just puts what they want. However, I am going to try again taking MY word verification off and hope the nasty, vulgar spam stays away.

Yes I am going to start this with a thank you, for all the wonderful well wishes and healing energy. It worked!! I saw the surgeon yesterday and he is very happy with how I am recovering. Still can't do much but I am on the mend and feeling very good.

THIS PIPE IS NOW AT REST

Hi Everyone!

Most of you know that I was raised with an Athabaskan couple. I was taught the old Native ways of living and how to apply them in today's world. One of the things I do is a sacred pipe ceremony. I guess because spring Powwow is coming that I have been receiving lots of emails about making drums and pipes. So I thought I would show you one of my pipes that is now at rest. Meaning I don't use it any longer. I did the last smoke the other day. This pipe was made for me by a Medicine man from the Spokane Tribe. We did a trade, I made him beaded medicine bags. It was a good trade. I did the dressing on the pipe. From the beading to the embellishments represent my totems at the time and the spiritual things that were happening. This pipe is 25 years old

This pipe is 27 inches long made of cedar and soap stone

The beading is peyote stitch using old time Czech 3 cut seed beads size 9/o

Python snake skin was given to me from Mike on my birthday and was perfect for this pipe. An opal cab sets it off.

 Coyote fur and the Malachite cab sits up front

 Skunk fur on the back of the pipe

The leather embellishments are all items that belonged to my great grandparents and grandparents
