HOW ABOUT SOME BEADWORK

Hi Everyone!
OK two posts in one day! I guess all the sunshine I have been inhaling (LOL) is giving me some extra energy.
I have been working on this piece for awhile. Well that is not exactly true.... it has been sitting on my work table waiting for me to get with it. So today was the day. I got the strap done, the edging, and some tweaking. The lone bead is made by one of my good Florence pals Denise Sanders. The cab is petrified palm wood. I love the specks. So put the two together with some Jasper beads and you get this necklace.
Scroll down slowly please.

Ohhhh but wait if your order now.... aaahhh just kidding  this is not an infomercial for pete sake
but there is a twist.
Unhook the strap turn the necklace upside down and whhheeellllaaaaa you have a whole new style.

Which way do you like best?

PLANES TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES WHAT FUN

Hi Everyone!
I hope your weekend has been filled with sunshine and lots of fun. Yesterday Mike and I drove north on the coast road and then inland a bit to Tillamook, OR. Yes, that is the place where the cheese and other dairy products are made. However, we turned before the actual town to the Air Museum. There was a showing of old planes, a car show, a few bikes, and an old train on the property. It was the perfect sun shinny day for it. The best part as we were getting close to the entrance a girl handed us two tickets to get in free. Yeaaahhhh!!! The building is amazing at one time housing blimps. My favorite flying machine are the helicopters. I truly want to fly one before I pass to my next life. LOL But this little yellow plane was so cute.
If you get a chance to visit the Air Museum just outside of Tillamook do it was quite interesting.
Have a great Sunday and enjoy the  photos.

BEAD UNIQUE ARTICLES YEAAHHHH

Hi Everyone!
I am hoping the sun will stay out a bit today.... why.... because I need a day to clean the carpets in my home. Haa haaa you thought I was going to sun bath didn't you. Gotcha...
So that is my plan for the day. What are you doing today?
If you don't already subscribe to Bead Unique Magazine then, if you are out an about today, pick up the July August issue. Not just because the magazine is full of fantastic information on beading but because I have two design articles in this issue. I have said this before and will probably say it again, however, I have been published hundreds of times and each time is as exciting as the very first. I am honored that after all these years I am still creating items people want to make. Thank you.
So what are these pieces?
Well let me just show you.

BTW did you know that Pam Hawkins editor of the magazine takes all the photos in BU? Well she does.

WARM SUNSHINE THAT'S ALL I NEEDED

Hi Everyone!!
I have a whole new outlook today even though it is grey and cloudy and getting ready to rain here in Florence. Yesterday Mike and I drove North up coast to a cozy little town named Toledo, OR. It is just outside of Newport. The sun was shinning and glimmering on the ocean's water, pelicans flying over head and well just a start to a great day. With the sun so warm and bright I actually had to put on the sunglasses. Newport was bustling and the Farmer's Market they put on there was full of people. A good sign. We headed up a very scenic road stopping at some cute little shops along the way. The town of Toledo is less than half the population of Florence but the town is much bigger. (Florence 8,000) A logging town with a working mill set in the hills of OR. It was such an inviting town. We found a good place to park and spoke to some of the towns people that gave us some great tips on things to see there. We first hit the train museum a free bit of history that was so much fun. Then up to Main street to watch the parade. I noticed that there were a lot of kids and families. Something you don't see in Florence. Florence is a retirement town so not many kids or young families. Toledo on the other hand is young and vibrant. On with my day. We left the parade before it ended and headed to the carnival. Very nice with lots to do and eat! and for me cotton candy!! We got our food and headed for the bleachers where they were setting up for the logging competition. We planned that perfectly because when the parade ended the carnival filled up fast. We had such a good time. It was HOT! sunny, and full of life.

When we left Toledo we took the back road to the docks of Newport and Old Town. I soaked in more of the sun and warmth and thought, "This is all I needed" WARM SUNSHINE!!!

Today I have Sun rose cheeks and my shoulders and arms have a bit of a tan.

I hope where ever you are the weather is exactly what you want and possibly need.

Off to the Train Museum

OMG A DAY IN THE WARM SUNSHINE

Hi Everyone!
Well my spirits are bright and my mind and body feel rejuvenated. hmmmm must be the warm sunshine that I was engulfed in today. Yes the sun came out in Florence but still windy so that takes the fun right out of it. Mike and I decided to drive inland to get away from the wind and get even more HOT sunshine. We headed south through Reedsport and past the Elk Reserve and up to Loon Lake Resort. Wow it was so pretty up there, more my kind of terrain. Mountains and sun and trees and sun and streams and oh yeah sun!!!! We had lunch at the Loon Lake Cafe. Great food if you are ever up that way. Then to the lake. It was perfect!!! I mean perfect. The people were enjoying the day everyone was having a great time. One little boy caught two fish and brought them over to show us. He was sooo happy. We are definitely going back to Loon Lake in OR. There is tent camping, RV spaces and some very cute cabins. You can launch your boats and the swimming is pretty nice too. If only we could have a full summer of warm sunny days here. Sigghhhhh.... I will take what I can get.
Have a great evening everyone!

DIZZY DAME WOW

Hi Everyone!
The last two days I have been spinning. I mean literally spinning. On Friday I came home from the grocery store and felt fine. An hour later it was as if some one pulled the string on a toy top and I didn't know what end was up. I hate that! I downed some Dramamine and some antihistamine and lay there hoping it would all go away. It didn't. Yesterday I remembered I have some Sweet Oil in the herb cupboard. I heated some up and dropped it in my ear. I did this twice yesterday plus taking the above mentioned pills. Today I feel much better. Not so dizzy more tipsy. My ear doesn't hurt but there was a flash of deep pain so I know I must have fluid behind my ear drum or what ever. At least I can sit and type. LOL!
It is the Rock and Gem show this weekend in Reedsport and I really want to go. I will have to see how I am walking in a few hours.
So what are you doing today? If you are shopping remember I am having Free Shipping World Wide in my Beadwright etsy store. Use this coupon to receive it. JFWWS11

TYPICAL SUMMER DAY

Hi Everyone!
I received an email from my dear friend Lisa Atchison, who lives in Indiana. She was telling me how hot it is there. Along with the humidity she said it is pretty unbearable. Isn't if funny how the weather can change our moods, make us happy or miserable. Mike and I had to drive over to Coos Bay day before yesterday and this is what the weather was. This weather kills my mood. I can take it in winter but not in what is suppose to be summer. LOL that is a sarcastic laugh.
It was pouring rain and cold. We had the heater on in the car!

It is a pretty area if only the sun would shine.
P.S. Yesterday was sunny and warm
