LAST TWO DAYS TO LEAVE A COMMENT FOR A CHANCE TO WIN ONE OF THESE BOOKS

Part Two on the Book Review

Hi again Everyone!
The second book that I read through from cover to cover is Creative Beaded Jewelry. This is a beginners book for all types of stinging. However, the finishing touches to each piece is something that all jewelry makers should and must know. I was impressed with how the author, Sigal Buzaglo, put across each detail. Again the photography is excellent! If you want to get serious about your jewelry making, then this is a must have book. There are 9 bracelets, 15 necklaces, 7 earrings and ring patterns. Each one has precise instructions. The amount of knowledge in this book is paramount to your creative endeavors.
Leave a comment for a chance to win this book and the one below.
Both are worth having in your library!
You can purchase this book at Amazon

I love this ring

Hi Everyone!!!
I can not believe that 8 days, a whole week has gone by since I last blogged. Hmmmm two feet to walk on has taken me away from the computer. LOL Really can you blame me???  I have been so very busy, getting ready for an art gallery show, visiting with friends, actually going out of the house with two shoes on and just getting back in the swing of things.

If you follow my blog you will know that Tara Cuskley from Sixth & Springs Books sends me new beading publications to review. I just received two new beading books that I think will enhance some of your beading skills. The other good part of this review, is that I get to give one of each book away to my readers.
Today I will tell you what I think of Creative Wire Jewelry.
I am quite impressed with this book. The author, Ariella Nachson, takes you step by step through basic wire working. With her instructions and the perfect photographs anyone would be able to accomplish the techniques Ariella demonstrates. This book is packed with not only information on wire working and tools but the patterns consist of 14 necklaces, 8 bracelets, 8 earrings, and 7 rings and brooches. Each piece has a specific quality that I don't find in a lot of instructional books. Photographer, Roee Feinburg, took great care in making sure each photo is clear and focused on the item the author is speaking about. There are 144 pages of easy to follow instructions for some very up-to-date designs for jewelry. This is a book that not only inspire you as a jewelry maker but has the impact to make you want to do more.

If you think you would like this book simply leave a comment for a chance to win a copy. If you can't wait you can purchase this book on Amazon

A GREAT DAY ON THE COAST

Hi Everyone!
I had a fantastic day yesterday. OK I know it must be a miracle that I would say that living in a place I don't like. However, I am not totally oblivious to my surroundings. LOL Mike and I had to drive over to Bandon, OR. a truly fun and very nice place to visit if you come to the OR coast. There are so many cool shops, and very good places to eat. The weather was in our favor too so that is always a plus.
Also the fact that I can now walk without any discomfort made the day extra special.
Here are a few shots of the Bandon coast line before the sun came out. We do have sun once in a while here.

Have a great day everyone

QUIET ON THE FRONT

Hi Everyone!
It seems quiet on the blogging front. I myself have been neglectful of my blog. The sun has been shinning, even though the wind is cold, the sun bring some energy to me. Heyyyy... so much so I am decluttering my house today. OMG!!!  So today I wanted to share some photos of some Oregon coast pictures that I took a few weeks ago. The tide was out and it would have been a great day to wrap up and check the beach, however, I was still in a medical boot and couldn't do that.
Hope all of you are having a great Sunday

Natural Desert Agate

Hi Everyone!!
I hope that some of you are having nice, warm, sunny weather. The sun is trying to come out here but the wind, as always is cold. I don't think I will ever get use to this.

So on to happier things. First thanks to all of you who took advantage of my natural agate invitation. Since the response was so big I have now listed some of my Desert Agate in my Beadwright esty store  I may have mentioned that the prices on this type of Agate in on line stores is ridiculously expensive. Each one of my pieces are unique and some have the best shapes and textures and the prices are excellent!
These are perfect for beading of any type.

Hope you are having a great day!

NEW PUBLICATIONS BEAD UNIQUE MAGAZINE

Hi Everyone!
I am finally recouped from last Friday's show. Every thing is put away ready for the next show.
Today when I picked up the mail there was my August issue of Bead Unique Magazine. Before I tell you what is inside, I want to share something with you. I have been so very fortunate in my bead art career. I tell people it isn't because I am better than others, it is truly that I am blessed in being able, for the last 45 years, to work at what I love. I was around when Japanese seed beads were NOT the beads of choice, where a beading magazine was unheard of, bead societies had not been formed and, I am sorry to say, copyright was not an issue. Then the late 1980s and early 1990s hit and things started to change fast. The Japanese invented a computer to make the most uniform seed beads on earth. Delicas were called D beads and Lapidary Journal and Bead n Button started the beading magazine whirl wind. The first bead retreat in the US was put on by me and a friend Lisa, in Sandpoint ID. Bead shows started and it just got bigger and bigger and bigger and.... well here we are. I have taught beading classes in 7 states, was the featured bead artist for 3 years at the what is now the MAC museum in Spokane, WA. Mike and I have manufactured beading looms since 1986, I developed Nicole's BeadBacking 22 years ago and I have 4 of my own books published. Not to mention the millions of beads I have worked with. So, I told you all of that to say that even today when I see my bead articles published I get as excited and happy as I did with that very first publication so many years ago.  Thank you Pam Hawkins and Joanna Feller for working so hard to publish such an outstanding beading magazine. This August issue, I think is one of the best. It is bright, full of energy, and balanced perfectly. I love this issue and not just because I have two articles in it. If you don't get Bead Unique Magazine sent to your house then head over to where ever you buy magazines and pick this one up. It is FABULOUS!!! And yes I am excited to see my name and my pieces in print.

Pam Hawkins in not only editor in chief she also takes all the photographs herself.

Ohhh part of my Elegant Punk series

I think the pacific ocean had my eye this day. LOL
Happy Monday Everyone!

NATURAL AGATE FROM THE DESERT

Hi Everyone!
First another complaint with Blogger. Just wish they would get it together. LOL

Now for something nice. My entire life I have picked up rocks, stones, and any other wonder that nature offered up to me. Mike says I am like Lucile Ball in the Movie The Long Long Trailer, where she packs it full of rocks. So with that tidbit shared, while I lived in the AZ desert the beautiful desert agate was everywhere. I collected boxes of them. The locals call them "moon rocks" In the early 1990's I incorporated them in all kinds of beading. Now some 20 years later that raw and natural stone is in the main stream. I noticed that FMG is selling it for an exorbitant price. OMG!!! Part of my beading last week was with a piece of my agate. I am selling some of my agate but I am NOT listing it on etsy if you would like some email me. Believe me my price is WAY less than FMG.

Also if you are on the OR coast on June 17, then make your way to Reedsport. The Mind Power Art Gallery is sponsoring a show for the huge chain saw art festival. I have arranged for me, Nicole Campanella, Kelley Angeley, Charmain Pesnell, and Sarah Holded to show and sell our bead art. There will be other artists there as well. Free demos, and food. This will be June 17 from noon to 8Pm. I also have classes set up there every weekend so if you are coming to the cost contact me for sign up. Come join in the fun!!!

Now for eye candy.

Contact me if you are interested in Natural Agate

Hi Everyone!!!
Yiippeeeeeee and hurrraaayyyy!!!! I just got home form seeing the foot doctor and yessssssss!!! My foot is 99% healed. I can now wear shoes instead of shoe. LOL The bone healing machine worked, staying off my foot for 4 months worked, and wearing that huge heavy medical boot worked. My foot is weak and needs some TLC over the next 6 months but I can now walk. What a relief. Dancing anyone????? OK OK maybe in a few months.

The other good news is my winner for last months comment contest. Shaiha's Ramblings was chosen from the cyber hat. She will get free beads sent to her. Check out her blog and say hi.
You could be the next winner. Simply leave comments. The more comments you leave the more chances you have at winning.

I am off to walk through my house.........with shoes on................
