The Bead Coop

Hi Everyone!
Well for those of you who follow this adventure I call life, know that I have been making changes. Over the last few years I have sold out the seed bead part of my business and trying to sell the rest of the supplies I carried in my Beadwright store for 17 years. It is almost over and I am feeling happy and relieved that a new adventure is beginning. Since 1989 I have been writing instructional articles on beading, gourd art, fashion, and design. Along with that I have taught classes, made kits, patterns, and tutorials. That part is going to expand. I am now a proud member of  The Bead Coop. If you have never been there then you are missing out on some of the most talented people creating patterns and tutorials. I will be listing mine today. I have pulled out some of my old time patterns and tutorials and revising them for today's beads and supplies. It will be fun to see my old art come alive again. With that news out I have decided that when my Bead Coop store is all set up and ready to go that I should have a grand opening party and all of my blog friends and family will be invited. It will be so much fun with lots of door prizes and giveaways. The details to come
Have a great day today

WHERE THE HELL HAVE I BEEN??

Hi Everyone!
Over the weekends I receive LOOOOTTTTSSSSS of emails. Some from friends, many from beaders asking questions and then there are those from my blogging family that write, "where the hell are you?" (giggle giggle) I love it! I love that so many of you actually miss me when I am away from posting. Sooooo where have I been?? I have been home still trying to get my broken foot healed. The bone healing machine, I think is really working!!! The nerve damage is still giving me fits but all in all I think it is better. I am still in the monster medical boot and I have to stay off my foot. That is the part I am having a hard time with.... ever take a shower on one foot. LOL no I have to be in a chair... NOT a pretty picture. OK OK ... so that is your visual laugh for the day. :)
I have been working on art pieces I can do sitting down with one foot elevated on a chair. Making lots of patterns and new designs in PDF form. Something I have wanted to do for many years and never had time. See there is a positive side to this foot thing. LOL
I will have some leather working designs made up and ready for sale very soon. Nice to get back to some of my roots.
So if you haven't been to my Beadwright etsy store or to my Nicole Campanella website then here are just a few of the patterns ready to go.
I will be stopping by your blogs to say hello and to tell you I have missed all of you too.

Happy Monday.

PARTY RING TUTORIAL READY TO GO

Hi Everyone!
I hope all of you had a great weekend. It was quiet here. Stayed off my foot and got quite a bit accomplished in the art department. One of those things is my comfort party ring tutorial!!! I have had sooooo many people email me about this so here it is. Now this is a tutorial on how to make the ring. You must already know how to flatwork, (IE) bead embroidery, and working with a few non power tools. You can actually make  this ring in an afternoon. Add as much or as little beading as you like and well you have it.  Of course, you will need Nicole's BeadBacking too.  The tutorial is already listed in my Beadwright etsy store and will be on my website later today. Also if you need the cabs for these rings contact Lori Cook.
I hope you take the opportunity to learn how to make these beautiful rings. They will make fantastic gifts.
I am off to bead.
Have a great day everyone.

NEW NICOLE'S BEADBACKING

Hi Everyone!
It sure is a nice day in Florence. OMG!!! Did I really write that? Yes... sigh... today is Mike's birthday and today is the first day in over two months that I have felt pretty good. This last fight with lupus was a tough one. The doctor had labs done and my organs are still in the good range. So lupus I win again. Yeaaahhhhh!!! With that, the sun is out even though it is chilly.
My curtains are open and the sun is streaming in. I love it!!!
Sooo what about Nicole's BeadBacking?? I already introduced a new color a few months ago. However, in going over sales and what, you, the customer tells me I have revamp my colors. The top 6 colors sold are Midnight, Snow White, Dove Grey, Majestic Purple, Rich Brown, and Mocha Cream. The bottom 6 are Lavender, Dk Turquoise, Pretty Pink, Corn Yellow, True Red and Royal Blues. The other colors hold their own. With the emails that I receive earth tones are the colors most requested. Sooooooo I have a new color that we are calling "Hawk Wing." It is a soft brown between our Rich brown and Mocha Cream. It is awesome!!!!! We will continue to sell Lavender, Dk Turquoise, and Pretty Pink until the inventory is gone. That means if you are the ones who do like those colors you should get them while they last. You can purchase those in single sheets at our Beadwright website http://nicolecampanella.com/. Okayyyy ya wanna see the new Hawk Wing color???? Drummmm rooollllll.....................

HAPPY ST PATTY'S DAY

Hello Everyone!
and happy St Patrick's Day!!!
I have been up since 2. Yes that is 2 AM. Just couldn't sleep. I have a beading project almost finished, just a few more rows and I can put it all together. Not much news going on here. I am staying off of my foot. Do you know just how sick I am of "sitting"? I am use to being busy, on my feet and doing things. Plus, I truly miss my daily work outs. Tomorrow is Mike's birthday, 56 years isn't sitting well with him. LOL Yes he is younger than me. So because we have to go to town today I think I will take him out to lunch. We have decided no gifts this year. Tomorrow I will bake him a cake. He loves sweets.
So I am wishing all of you a happy day. Green beer and Corn Beef. Wow what a way to celebrate a Saint. LOL

OLD AFRICAN BEAD STASH

Hi Everyone!
I hope all who read this are doing well and out of harms way.
So what are you doing today?
I am going through beads and supplies. As some of you know I have been closing out my retail beads for some time now. Every time I thought I was done I would find another plastic tote box of beads. So with that finished I am now going to sell my private stash. Yes... you heard me. I am starting with my African beads. These are old beads not the new/old that has been coming into the states for the last 10 years.  I have had most of these beads 30 years myself. As much as I would love to keep the collection together I am sure I will have to piece them out. I am selling each strand for exactly what I paid for them 30 years ago. So when I say this is a deal I mean this is a deal. If anyone is interested in all or part please email me.
I will be listing them on etsy starting tomorrow.

And with all the excitement in my life lately I forgot to tell all of you that I am having a coupon sale in my Beadwright etsy store. For the month of march 20% off of everything. Nicole's BeadBacking, kits, beads, cabs, EVERYTHING!!!!! When you check out use coupon code MDC11

I will be listing my private stash beads all month too so keep checking back.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

ALL CLEAR ISSUED

Hi Everyone!
Wowowowow what an exciting morning. And NOT in a fun way. So here is my story. I woke up around 3 AM with a headache. I got up to make some hot water and take migraine meds. I went back to bed and Mike was up. All of a sudden we here the Tsunami warning signal.  We waited a minuted to see if it would turn off and play the all clear song. I looked at Mike as he looked at me and I said, "This might be serious." We got up and looked out the window to see that all of our neighbors were loading their cars and heading out. It truly looked like something out of a movie. We grabbed our clothes and headed for the truck. There was a volunteer walking the streets that told us there was a Tsunami coming but we had a few hours. So we packed a bag, and some extra food. We already keep a survival pack in our truck and car. So off to higher ground. That happens to be the Florence Event Center for us. Then it was all about waiting. Around 11AM we got an all clear. I will say with pride that the city of Florence and all the volunteers had this running as smooth as can be. The residence of Florence were all courteous and really very calm. Hurraayyy!!! one for Florence. LOL  Of course we are not out of the woods yet and everyone is on alert.
Here are a few photos of where we were. Just so you know, I live 1/2 mile from the river and 2 miles from the ocean beach. Our house is right in the Tsunami inundation area. As one official, that lives one block from me, said, "If we get hit our houses are toast."
We are safe for now.
Thanks for the emails, comments and all the positive energy.

As for the photos, I didn't think it right to take pictures of people. It was a pretty stressful morning.

Can't get back home

That tall guy in the red shirt is Mike

There were about 500 residence that showed up

The Events Center is only about 200 feet elevation

BY REQUEST CAR ART

Hi Everyone!
Today is a busy day for me. Since I have been taking it easy this last week. Being a good girl and staying off of my foot. Do you know how difficult it is to stay off your foot? Keeping it elevated and in a medical boot???? EEEKKKKKK!!! So today I am meeting a friend for lunch and getting some herbs at the herb store. My foot will give me fits later but I want OUT!!!! Out of the house!! LOL
Over the last week I have also received 47 emails about car art. Hmmm I said I don't show my car art but it seems I am going to break my own rule and show you some. Car art is simply the drawings I do when we are on the road. I keep a sketch pad and pencils in the car at all times. When I am not driving I draw. They are really nothing special just what ever is in my head. You all know I like faces, so today I will show you some of mine. These are old, I drew these about 6 years ago.
So put some art supplies in the car and start your own car art collection.
Hope you enjoy them.

Have a great Thursday

OOHHH GOODIES IN GLASS

Hi Everyone!
I received a package yesterday from my good friend Lori Cook. Years ago when we first met on line we lived a short distance away from each other. Well I lived in N. Idaho and she in Spokane, WA. We set a date and met at the mall. She is so beautiful inside and out. We had a great time together. It was such a wonderful connection and through the years we have gone through life together. Soooo when I get a package from Lori I know that whatever is inside it will be GOOD. I was not wrong about this one. Glass made by Lori is the best. Her colors, and control of the glass is apparent. I love what she is doing with the decals. I can hardly wait start beading these. Now before I show you just how talented Lori is I want to tell you that Lori now has a newsletter. If you go to her blog you can sign up for free. You won't be sorry that you did.
Also be sure to visit her etsy store.
Thanks Lori.

I love these

and these look like the sea

JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS

Hi Everyone!
I sure hope you had a better day than I did. Well it wasn't a bad day just a non productive one. The rain is heavy and the skies are dark so that makes my life feel dark and heavy. It seemed everything I wanted to do today was difficult and I have learned that if it isn't working out just set it aside. I took not one but two naps today. Well I guess I needed it because after the second nap things seemed to fit into place. LOL So after a long day I did finally draw a new pattern and then made it up. It is an easy one with only 18 colors. It is kind of how I feel. Looking for something new, something exciting, the eye of the Peacock seems to know where that all is.
You can find this and other PDF patterns in my Beadwright etsy store or my Beadwright website.

SLOW N EASY DAY

Hi Everyone!
It sure was a slow and easy day today. The sun was out so that always makes my mood a bit better. LOL
Trying to stay off my foot and using my magick bone healing machine. The only thing I did today was make a loom pattern from another one of my "car art" pictures. I just thought, I should show you the real deal along with with pattern. Weeeellllll noooo I don't show those to anyone. .....Sorryyyyyy.....
However, here is the pattern. It is a 5x7" perfect for bags, or framing or those wild statement jewelry pieces.
I couldn't get this picture sized up right. There are NO lines in the actuall pattern. You can get it in my Beadwright etsy store

I am off to watch some scary movies. Have a nice evening everyone.

EYE FOR YOUR WRIST?

Hi Everyone!
Yesterday I spent in Coos Bay, that is Oregon for those of you who don't know my part of the world. LOL!
You know a day of getting the oil changed in the car, and stopping at all the stores that Florence doesn't have. Ohhh... I forgot that's all of them...... Florence has a Safeway and a Fred Myers and that is it for shopping. The only really good thing about here is that we have two very nice bead stores. Anyway my foot is out of use today, too much walking on it yesterday. So I will be stuck in a chair or bed. Good day to bead and get some new patterns made, which is what I did this morning. I do like this one. Eyes for your wrist? Yep that is it. A great cuff with some of my original "car art".  You can get my patterns delivered directly to your email PDF both from my Beadwright etsy store or my Beadwright website. Oh and don't forget you get a feature spot on both of my sites for your finished piece of my patterns, tutorials, or kits.
Everyone have a great Saturday!

NEW LOOM PATTERN FOR YOUR WALL

Hi Everyone!
It has been a busy day. I just had to show you my newest pattern. Now I do something I call "car art" I keep a sketch pad and pencils in my car so when we are on the road I can draw. Nothing really special, mostly macabre faces. I pulled some of them out today and decided there is no reason for them to sit in a folder when I can make beading patterns out of them. Here is the one I did today. It is large so it can be framed for your wall.
The pattern is in my Beadwright etsy store and will be on my Beadwright website tomorrow.
Hope you like it.

Have a nice evening!

SKULL PATTERNS AND BEADING

Hi Everyone!
The sun is out today, well partially, the wind is blowing as usual and as I look out the front window I can see the marine layer coming in. A typical day on the Oregon coast. LOL
I have been in and out of the blogging world of late. Just trying to get my strength up. I have been working on patterns, and my website.
If you have been visiting me a while you know I love skulls n bones. Have my whole life. Here is a finished skull head that will be going to my Son-in-law, Dax.
I have been putting my patterns both on my Beadwright etsy and my Beadwright website. From etsy I will email them PDF however, if you don't want to wait for me... go to my Beadwright website and have them directly sent your email as soon as your payment is processed. How easy is that?? Each month I will feature a pattern here on my blog that you can purchase and it will be sent automatically to your email. This month skull n bones. (In the side bar)  All patterns and tutorials are PDF so a reader is required. Such as Adobe Reader which you can down load for free. I have been going through some of my old patterns, (at least 35 years old) that I have all done by hand. You know before the days of computers and bead programs. LOL Also I will be getting more full tutorials ready for you to use with complete instructions you can have sent right to your email.  Ohhh yess I still have my kits so don't worry about that. Be sure to visit my website. I have been making changes and I kind of like the new look.
Everyone have a great day! I will see you in blogland.
