WHERE AM I??

Hi Everyone!

I have received more than several emails from people asking where the hell I am!
I am here and I am alive. LOL.
This last bout with lupus took a good hunk of energy out of me so I am just recouping. Also my podiatrist has me on a whole new regime for my fractured foot. Oh yes it is still broken. :)
So I have a new and improved medical boot. One that actually fits and feels good on my foot. And two I have a bone healing machine that I wear 3 hours a day. It is magic and you know how I love magic. It is a magnetic electro device that heals bone. I have spoken to a few people who have used them and their bones did heal. So after a year of a broken foot I am willing to try this. Mainly, because I DO NOT WANT surgery. I have been getting lots of beading done too. Hey when you can't walk... bead! Right?
I will be choosing my monthly comment contest winner today so stay tuned. If you have been commenting you may be the winner.
Here are my new foot gadgets.

This medical boot is gymonsterous and weighs about 5 pounds LOL

It isn't pretty at all and that big bladder thing on front is how I pump air into the boot.
Not pretty but feels great

This is the bone healing machine all computerized

Strap it on and watch a movie

and this is what is on my work table now

SKULLS N SUCH

Hi Everyone!
Well here it is Tuesday. Those fake holidays always throw me for a loop. I know the post office will be packed and standing in line will be the call of the day. LOL OH well..... I actually got a lot accomplished this long weekend. Lots of new patterns made, mostly skulls. Okayyy you know me and the bone, skulls, day of the dead thing. I think I am the only person who went to Japan and brought home a day of the dead item. I will have to take a photo to show you what it is. In the mean time here is the latest pattern I made and then loomed up. I am not quite sure what I will make with it but I like the way it turned out. If you are looking for skull patterns take a look at my Beadwright etsy store or email me.
Have a great day today!!!

So what have I been doing to be so focused that my time gets away from me. Beading!! what else?? I have done up a few loom pieces that I am very  happy with. One is my beloved Miss Skully. Yes yes yes I know she is part of my being. Here is the latest pattern I have made up of her. It works up beautifully in loom or peyote. If you want her head over to my Beadwright etsy store. She will be on my Beadwright website as well. I plan to have several colors made up.
I would love to see her made up EVERYWHERE!!! :))
Hope all of you are having a great Sunday.

BEADING PATTERNS CLASSES EEEKKKKK

Hi Everyone!!!

Wow what a busy, fast, creative week. Well the last few days anyway. Still trying to get my energy level up for the lupus hit. The sun is shinning in Florence and you all know how good that makes me feel. The other good and amazing thing that has happened is the wonderful gifts I am receiving from OWOH. I want to publicly thank all of you. When they come in I will post them. I am such a lucky girl. LOL

I have been working on new PDF patterns, tutorials, and kits that are all going to be available through my Beadwright website. Some are there now so go check it out!

This last Thursday Mike and I drove over to Bandon, Oregon. It is a very nice seaside town with lots of energy and life. Especially with the beading art community. This truly comes from the hard work and dedication of Anne Sabbota. Owner of the Sage Gallery and Sage Place Bead store. Anne and her manager Kathy have created not only a fantastic beading space but other art forms to help people find their creative soul. I am so happy to be, in some way, a part of this adventure. Soooo back to last Thursday. While Mike took photos of ocean beauties, I was able to meet some of the nicest ladies in Bandon and do what I love. Teach. I did a demo on Nicole's BeadBacking. It was sooooo much funnnnn!!!! I will be teaching at the Sage Place Bead store starting hopefully this summer. I will give dates as I get them. So if you come this way for vacation be sure to email me and let me know. Even if you don't come for a class I would love to meet some you.
Here is Sage Place Beads

click here to visit the website. Ohhh I am there too. :)

BEADS LEATHER AND BED OH MY

Hi Everyone!

I hope today is as good for you as it is for me.  Yes I am up! no more bed for me. Enough is enough. I am feeling myself again. Every Time I have a bad hit from lupus and come out of it, I am fully charged with energy and for the victory of winning another battle with it. Soooo even though I am full of life today I will take it easy and do just enough to make me happy. I am teaching a class tomorrow. I was afraid I would have to cancel it. We will have to see what the morning brings.

OK.. you remember some of my leather work right? Ahhh come on, here are a few photos to shake that memory.

While I was in bed I decided to take the leather to the jewelry. I have done this before but I wanted to spice it up a bit. Now if you don't work with leather you should know that leather is worked... wet... not really good for the sheets!!!  LOL but here is what I came up with.
And you know I had to play with my hotfix tool and crystals form Artbeads.com

I would have beaded a strap but this was easier to do in bed.

Nothing like leather, chain, and crystals.

You know me the back has to be as pretty as the front.
Have a great day.... I sure am!

BEADS N STUFF

Hi Everyone!

Well I am actually feeling a bit better and have been up and out of bed a few hours. If you know me at all you know that I can't be down for long and even in bed I am trying to keep busy. All though doing anything in bed drives me crazy. Ohhh I forgot I already am crazy. LOL

So during this lupus episode I received some very nice beads from Juls of Julsbeads. Yes she was so nice to send me some of her Turquoise donuts. These are so awesome I can hardly wait to use them. Thanks Juls you are the best.

Them my good friend, in real time, Kelly Angeley came home from Tucson with a bag full of crystals for me. I sent her with some cash and a list. Wowow I am so happy with what she found. Thanks Kelly.

So one of the things that I needed ALL these crystals for is my new kits. I have recieved such a huge and positive response on  Procupine Quill art and especially my earrings that I not only have the tutorial but put together kits for those who want to try working with quills. It is so much fun and the effect is amazing. You will love the colors of the quills as well. I have lots of different colors so be sure to specifiy when you email me or order from my Beadwright website or Beadwright etsy store.

I also have been trying to get through all of the OWOH web sites. I have about 200 to go. Everyone is so talented. It is so nice to meet new people from around the world and find out how they live and create.

On a personal note; I want to thank all of you who have emailed me with healing notes and e-cards. It sure makes my life a happier place knowing you all care about me.

Now to get caught up. LOL

WHAT ARTISTS WANT MOST

Hi Everyone!
I hope all of you are enjoying OWOH.

Now what a true artists wants most, even before sales, is to effect the people who see, wear and use the art we create.
We want our art to stir the soul, make laughter, bring tears, take the breath away.
We want our art to be thought of and remembered.
We want our art to inspire, and encourage.
We want our art to invoke all the senses.
So when I receive a letter like this I know a few things. One, I have accomplished what I set out to do. And two, I have what I want most as an artist.

I just checked out your blog post and have to say that I can definitely relate to your perfect description of a Pacific Northwest winter. I don’t think many people, unless they have lived under the constant gray skies and rain, could even understand what we endure. Although I have to say, I’m glad I don’t have to shovel myself out from under piles of the fluffy white stuff either.

Now on to your beautiful design! I love the earthy Pacific Northwest winter colors you have captured so wonderfully in your bracelet cuff. The Czech Ocean Blue Rectangles have that perfect mix between a Pacific Northwest ocean and the relentless gray skies. You’ve managed to pull out the earthy brown indentations of the focal beads so beautifully, with the bronze druk beads and dark olive rainbow tila squares. The natural wave styling of the beadwork reminds me of the incoming ocean tides and softens the edges of the focal beads beautifully. I like how you have contrasted the more earthy natural shades and darker garnet with vibrant little pops of color; a little fuchsia, a sprinkling of the pale soft blue of alexandrite and bright white opal. It makes for a rich palette with intriguing and interesting textures. This is hard to describe to someone not living in this little corner of the world, unless you have endured the sun-starved and dark brooding palette of a Pacific Northwest winter. I think you have done a delightful job bringing the feel of winter and the hope of brighter spring days to come to your design.

This also looks like it would be a very comfortable bracelet to wear with the soft deer skin backing. Most of the larger bracelets that I’ve seen, just don’t look like they would be able to last an entire day on the wearer, but this one does, a testament to your ingenuity creating it with careful foresight and great materials.
