PROGNOSIS ON MY FOOT UUHHHHGGGG

Hi Everyone!
Well I saw the doctor yesterday. Let me think, I drove round trip 160 miles to spend 2 1/2 minutes with the doctor. Ok 3 1/2. For him to tell me what is wrong with my feet and that he can't handle it and has to refer me to one of his colleagues. Nothing more. (geee think a phone call would have sufficed.) Not how to treat it until I see this other doctor, NOTHING. We in the US know that our medical is the highest form of legal organized crime. There are some good doctors out there but they are caught up in the chaos of the politics of practising. Soooooo now that I have vented about that..... I was so briefly told that I have advanced Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, (RDS). In other words sever nerve damage. Hmmmm for 10 years I have been telling the doctors in 4 different states that my feel hurt ALLLLL of the TIME, including a podiatrist. Each and everyone of them have told me it is due to lupus and to live with it. OK so is RDS associated with lupus or with the Syrinx on my spine. Hmmmmm.... I guess I won't know until Oct 6 when I see the "other" doctor. Do I sound happy??? NOT.... not so much with my feet as with the lack of listening and caring from the medical profession. It is all about getting as many patients in as possible and to set us all up with unnecessary expensive testing, and ohhh let us not forget the prescriptions.    Ooooohhh I think I better go smudge and meditate and calm down. LOL
It is what it is.  However, in doing research on RDS it can occur in any part of your body, mostly limbs though. Feet, legs, arms and hands. I am SOOOOOO beyond thankful that it is in my feet and not my hands. I guess I better get use to that wheel chair. If that is the case I am getting a wham zoomer one. The kind I can do wheelies in.
Thanks for listening my dear friends.

GIFTS FROM LORI

Hi Everyone!
It is stormy here today. For some reason it is not bothering my mood, just my joints. LOL. I beaded a bit this AM then played with my new camera, so much more to know from a point n shoot. Took a nap. When I woke I  reopened a package I received the other day. It is from my good friend Lori Cook from
Out of the flames She just amazes me. She knows how close I am to faeries so she created a glass cabochon that has the most delicate faerie in the glass. OMG it is so beautiful.!! But she didn't stop there! Carefully wrapped is another cabochon with an outstanding Calla Lily. Wowowow it almost looks real. But she didn't stop there! I removed the wrapping and just about fell out of my socks. (Oh I mean sock, you know... the stupid boot on my foot) Lori sent me one of her amazing, incredible, wonderful, right up my beading alley BATS!!! ooohhhhh it is sooooo coooolllll. Actually much larger than I thought they were. I already have an idea for what it will be used for. A wall hanging with a full  moon and the bat flying in the night. I can hardly wait to get started on it. But she didn't stop there! While she was packing up the box her grandson put a surprise cab in for me. Lori would take it out and he would put it back in so Lori wrapped it up. She told me it is something new she is working on and let me tell you it is outstanding!!!!! So just how lucky am I to have friends like Lori? I am so blessed.  Be sure to visit Lori at her blog and her etsy store. and tell her Nicole sent you.
Here are my wonderful goodies.

You can just see the faerie in the glass. Stunning
 Can you believe this?
When I look at Battie it is black, however, when I shoot it I get this design. I have tried it several times.

WHITE DICRO ON SILVER

Hi Everyone!
I spent most of yesterday in bed actually sleeping. I think it must just be the last year catching up with me. I am trying to be focused and not dwell on the loss or the negative. I guess, thank the gods for beading, art, and sleep. :)
So this morning with foot in the walking boot.... (hmmm wonder why it is called that when I am not suppose to walk on my foot??? LOL) I got started on some photos. I do have to get use to this new camera don't I? It is so very different from my old point n shoot and I already know I will have to create a new set up for lighting. In the mean time bare with me. Here is what I was working on, white dicor on crystal and silver, no one ever said I should start off with easy photos.
This is a piece I designed two years ago. The white dicro is not only the best in color and shapes,  it is also carved! For those of you who don't know white dicro is very difficult to accomplish. Most of it comes out muddy or dull and one has to be a very experienced glass maker to get it right. My good friend Denise Sanders made this glass and her husband Mori did the carving. They both live here in Florence and Mori is our chief of police.
So this necklace is made of the white dicro, sterling silver in rice beads, 2mm rounds, and 4mm beveled. The seed beads are gilt lined crystal white in size 11/o. This is beaded on my white BeadBacking then the finished backing is white leather. The clasp is sterling silver with mother of pearl.
I know the photos don't do it justice so use your imagination for shine and sparkle.
Hope you like it.

FOUND A CLASP

Hi Everyone!
I have had this cuff made for about a week. I could not find a clasp that would go with it. I have millions of clasps and not one looked right. I checked the bead store here in Florence and there were some possibilities but nothing that jumped out at me. Then yesterday while we were in Eugene I found this brushed Matt silver and it was perfect! So here is "Ocean blue".
The beautiful glass cab is one made by Lori Cook. Please go visit her blog and etsy store. Out of the Flames

This is where it all started Nicole's BeadBacking and Lori's cab

I have silver chain sewn in the cuff.
Sterling rice beads and flat rounds
Turquoise leather for the finished backing

BONE SCANS EEEKKKK

Hi Everyone!

Wow yesterday was a LLLLOOOONNNNGGGGG day. Up and on the road early to Eugene. We made it through construction and AM traffic. Check in and then off to get an nuclear inject. The first scan was only about 20 minutes. Now for the hmmm fun part???? 5 hours to kill. So we had a nice meal, then off to Michael's for a few things, then to Best Buy to look at cameras. Nice sale going on. We wanted to check out Sears, however, the Sears here is down sizing and they only had a few cameras. Back to Best Buy. I got the camera I wanted at a great price!!!! Along with a few other things. It was still early but we headed back to the hospital. They were behind so my 3:30 bone scan didn't happen until 4:15 PM. It lasted about an hour. A quick check and it was decided I needed a 3-d CT scan. Reallyyyyy????? I think the bill just quadrupled. We had to wait for that and then another another hour for the scan. We didn't get home until 8PM. I am too old for this. LOL..... Oh wanna know what kind of camera I got? It is a Fuji FinePix s2700 OMG what a great camera! All the bells and whistles I wanted and more. So in the dim light of gray that is covering Florence today here are the first photos. They just happen to be some new beads I bought from Artbeads.com.
I needed some small bugles and of course Artbeads had them on sale!!! These are my faves

MISS SKULLY ON MY WRIST

Hi Everyone!

If you follow my blog you know that my camera is old, the lens is weak, and the battery won't keep a charge. Geeeee sounds a bit like me LOL!! Anyway taking photos is a challenge these days. I am hoping to get a new camera tomorrow. So please keep all of the above in mind when you view my latest cuff. Most of you know that I love skulls in any form and that Halloween is my most favorite day of the year, so Miss Skully just had to have the right environment to rest her beauty. This is another of my beyond free form pieces. In fact this is actually my textured flatwork. You can find the instructions in my book "FlatWork" Black lace, tiny vintage black roses, size 15/o, 12/o, and 11/o seed beads, mixed with Toho cubes, hex, and rounds. But what really topped it for me was the new leaves I received from Artbeads.com. They look like they should be in a graveyard!! eeehhhhh I love it!!! Can you tell that I am very pleased with this cuff? I just hate to part with it. OK so are you ready???? I hope you like it. It was fun to make.

Hi Everyone!

Mike picked up the mail on Sunday and I was so happy to see my Artbeads stash!!! Now before I show you the goodies I have to tell you this. Okayyy, so I will try not to be too long winded. However, when I find an on line sight that is true to their word in customer service and product I want to make sure that everyone knows it. Artbeads.com is at the top of my list. Every bead, tool, and finding is the highest quality. Prices are set and the sales are fantastic! I have been a customer and part of their blogging team for quite some time now and the service has always been excellent. Also if they advertise that there is going to be 8 grams of beads in a bag THERE IS. I appreciate paying for what is stated. So before I get too carried away look what I got!!!!!!
I can hardly wait to get started on my creations!!!!

Hi Everyone!
On Sept. 8 I posted that I had been asked by Sixth & Springs publishing to review two new books. The first was Creative Paper Jewelry which I found to be an excellent instructional book. The second book is Creative Crochet Jewelry by Esther Zadock. Even though crochet has been around since the 16th century its popularity comes and goes. However, for the past 10 years crochet and especially crochet jewelry is trendy again. I am very pleased that in this book there are 0ver 30 jewelry projects. That is an astounding amount for any instruction book. I am impressed with the process of the each project, execution of materials, and the wear-ability of each design. I did find that a knowledge in crochet is helpful but there are patterns to suit the beginner to the advanced. I know that once you have this book in your hands you will want to get started on these fabulous jewelry designs. Esther has gone a step above from the ordinary with her creations giving her audience a true sense of fashion for the women of the 21 century.
If you already know how to crochet or if you want to get started I would recommend this book.
Purchase price is just $19.95
Published by Penn Publishing for Sixth & Springs Books

CYBER FRIENDS

Hi Everyone!

Before I left for Cave Jct. OR. to visit with my mom I received an amazing gift from an equally amazing woman and artist. A lot of you already know who she is, however, for those of you who don't please take some time to visit Marie Segal owner of Art From My Heart. She is an artist that truly creates from her entire being. Back to the gift. A few weeks ago I noticed some very nice twisted bugles that Marie had made. I wrote her about them because they were not in her etsy store. Marie wrote telling me to watch the mail. So on our way out we checked the mail and there is a package with the incredible twisted bugles!!

Marie has a tut on how to make them click on the photo.
Then to my happy surprise there was a special gift that I will keep and cherish forever. Marie made a bottle in memory of my brother, Vince and sister, Gayle that passed away just 6 months of each other. In the bottle was a special message. How wonderful that in Marie's busy life she took time out for me. I am so blessed and honored to call her friend.

Be sure to visit Marie, find out for yourself what a gracious woman she is.
