GONE SHOPPING

Hi Everyone!

Today is kind of a break day for me. Mike and I are driving over to Eugene for Gem Fair. Lots of beads, friends, beads, vendors, and oh yeahhh the beads!!!! I am truly only buying the absolute items that I really need..... Ahhhh OKAY who do I think I am kidding?? I do go with a list and purchase those things right off. Then I go back through. Mike is no help to me, if he sees I like something he whispers in my ear, "Buy it, you may not find it again." I taught him well. It is true, if you see a beads or colors that you like you should buy. In addition you should buy as much as your bank account will allow. Color lots change and some beads are only here once.

After Gem Fair it is off to get a few food items maybe have a bite to eat and then home. Later I am meeting my "crew" ha ha beading buddies for a girls night out. Live music and drink.

So now you have the scoop on my day. I have a new blogger to introduce to you. She is my long time friend, bead and glass artist, and pattern maker extraordinaire. Some of you may know her from etsy or the bead pattern sites. I am so glad she has a blog now. Ohhh her name is Lori Cook owner of Out of the Flames Stop by leave a comment and tell Lori I sent you.
Have a great day everyone!

THURSDAY

Hi Everyone!!

I can't believe that my time is flying by faster than usual. I have missed all of you and hope that you are having a summer. I am calling this year in Florence our Winter/Summer. LOL

Today I will continue to bead and create and then tomorrow take a day off. Mike and I will drive over to Eugene, OR. to attend Gem Fair. I will be able to take photos of my good friend, Linda's booth. So I will have some things to share with you. Camera's are really not allowed but I have worked it out with her. I have also received another very nice email from a lady who is looking for my Curls n Swirls necklace that was the cover page and article in Bead Unique magazine 5 years ago. It always amazes me how people remember this particular necklace. I asked her how she remember it and here is what she had to say.

Well, I guess it must have made a big impression upon me. I actually purchased a focal bead very similar to the one on the magazine cover with the intention of going back to buy the magazine, however I waited too long and the next month's issue was already out at my local bead store. Anyhow, I came across the focal bead in my bead stash last week while looking for something else. For once I was organized enough to place a sticky note with the name of the pattern and the artist attached to the focal bead.

Now that... is organization. I love this idea of attaching a note to a focal bead.
Well I need more coffee so I can get this day started
Wishing all of you a sunny filled day

FOR JENNY

Hi Everyone!
I know that a lot of us have been through some tough times with cancer. It seems that everywhere I turn including in my own family there it is. One of our beautiful blogging friends is also going through that awful journey with her daughter. For the Love of Beads has set up a section in her etsy store "FOR JENNY" to help with medical bills. Even when times are tough financially we can all use more beads. So why not buy them hand made and for a good cause.
Also stop by For the love of beads to give a note of encouragement and a prayer.
Thanks everyone.

Hi Everyone!
For me there is nothing better than that first cup of coffee in the morning. I set it up the night before so when I groggily stumble into the kitchen all I have to do is push the button. Quickly the fragrance of fresh coffee pulls me awake. I pour that first cup, feel the warmth as I take a sip, and know the coffee bean gods are with me. It is time to start the day. Did I tell you that I hauled one or our living room chairs out of the house? I guess I will put it in the garage sale. I needed another work table for all the projects I am doing. I sure miss my Idaho studio. Working out of the living room have it's challenges. Mike comes singing through the house yesterday and I actually shushed him. Poor guy. LOL . So today I am cleaning house, finishing up some beading projects, and if there is time I need to file some brass pieces. What is in store for you today??? What ever it is do it in love and laughter!

TOO BUSY

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe how busy I have been since my return from CA. Even though my days are still sad I am carrying on. I know that both my sister and brother would have it no other way. So I am slowly cleaning out EVERY THING. and OMG!!! I can actually see the floor and walls of the first bedroom. Haaa not used for a bedroom at all. Two dressers, a shelf and a closed in shelf holding..... you got it beads and arts supplies. At least the boxes of "stuff" are now gone, separated and price for the garage sale. Ohhh look it is a real room , OK so the one dresser still needs the top cleaned off but this is a remarkable difference. Hhhhmmm why didn't I show a before picture? AAAhhhh ha ha ha ha.....you are all so funny NO WAYYYY.
Besides the garage sale I have been creating A LOT! Can't show you, most of it is for publications. Some very nice things have happened over the last few weeks and I am blessed by the people that have showed me such honor. Can't wait to share it all with you. Secrets aren't they a bitch??? hee hee hee
I have had time to meet up with some of my beading pals for lunch and a big trunk show put on by J-ME and Guy from Wild Things. They carry the best of the best. If you stop by there tell them Nicole from Florence sent you.
Well I have Mexican chicken in the oven and need to get the rest of dinner going. A happy weekend to all.

Pam is open to the new, inventive, and creative sides of artists. I also have the honor of being a contributor to this fantastic magazine. CLEANING UP AND OUT

Hi Everyone!
The last few days I have been going through "stuff" in my house to put in a huge garage sale I am planning. With the packing up and cleaning of my siblings homes after they have passed away. I have come to the conclusion that all the things we acquire, in the end are just things that get thrown out. Oh some things go to other family members but in the end the items will still get thrown out. Soooo I am on a mission to lighten up and get rid of things I have not seen or touched in the last year. I went through the millions of beading magazines I have sitting on book shelves and gave them all away. I use to love a nice book shelf with all of my beading books and of course Steven King, however, the books have been read years ago and now they are just dust collectors. I have collected glass pieces, little nik naky things that I have enjoyed but now is time to get rid of. In fact I would never have all of these things. I would love a minimalist home........ buuuutttttttttttt I live with Mike. He saves everything. I think he would be a hoarder if I allowed it. Now when I say he keeps everything I am not kidding. Last year my old trusty coffee maker gave in. I bought a new one and asked Mike to throw the old one away. ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?? I found that old coffee maker in the shed yesterday along with the broken plastic canister that goes to my carpet cleaner!!!! What the heck would anyone do with those things? OMG!!! So you see what I am up against. So today I will start in on the art room. Ohhh yessss I am going through everything!!!! Can't wait to start on Mike's spare room. Hee hee hee
Have a great day everyone!

FAERIES

Hi Everyone!
I am starting to catch up on things and thought I would take some time to blog. I found this wonderful site where you can get your faerie name. I love these generated name tags. Now you may not know this about me but I love anything fairies and faerie realm. I have a huge collection of faerie dolls. So when I found this it brought a big smile to my face. Here is my faerie name and what it means. I am truly surprised at how accurate it is. Hhmmm now that I have re read it I guess it is MY faerie. That is even better.
Your fairy is called Berry Iceglitter
She is a bone chilling bringer of justice for the vulnerable.
She lives in fruit orchards and vineyards.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears red, cerise and purple berry colours. She has icy blue butterfly wings.
This is Sooooo me. Think I will create this faerie for my collection.

Have fun

VINCE WOULD BE PROUD

Hi Everyone!

I have had a busy day catching up with news and what my friends, here in OR, have been up to. Is it nice being home???? It is nice seeing my friends and of course being with Mike, however, being in Florence still sucks. :)))) Ooookayyy so I would like the weather to be more perfect. Cold wind and I don't get along. Now for my happy story. Nicholas, Vince's son, has been with my brother Steve for a week now and is finding that life is busy and a lot of fun. Steve and his wife Carlene took Nik and their daughters, Sarah and Leah, boating last week. The time was so much fun for Nik that he was calling me every 1/2 hour to tell me what he was doing. Sunday Steve and Nik drove over to Flathead Lake, MT. to see my other brother Pat and his wife Tobi. Nik called to tell me he fell in the creek while they were fishing. He said, "Aunt Nikki I am having so much fun here." Then Pat took the guys out on the lake to do some real fishing and here is what Nik caught. I know Vince is shinning with pride and happy his son is with our brothers.

HAVING A MOMENT

Dean Vincent Campanella

Hi Everyone!
I have been home a few days and have things pretty much put away. I down loaded photos from my camera and found that every one of them are of my brother, Vince. I just want people to know how amazing he truly was. Vince was sick from birth. Diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 9. He went through a lot in those early days. Doctors had no idea how to regulate insulin, especially in children. Vince fought his way through all of that. He made sure he did everything he could to be healthy and doctors were amazed that at the age of 36 he still had all of his limbs and was doing well. That all change by age 38 when his kidneys started to fail. He was living in Fairbanks, AK. then, and in order to get a transplant team moved to Spokane, WA. However, a stroke and 5 byway heart surgery kicked him off the transplant list. Vince then moved him and his family to Sacramento, CA. where the transplant team accepted him. His first transplant was a kidney and a pancreas. The kidney failed after a year but the pancreas was good until the end. Vince had been on dialysis until he received the second kidney in 2006. Little did we know then that the kidney was cancerous. Vince lived his life as best he could and 5 years ago won custody of his son, Nicholas. Vince was a brilliant man, well educated and a whiz at the thing he loved. Sound, lighting and electrician for bands and TV stations. His last gig was with the band Journey. He was proud of all of his accomplishments especially the raising of Nicholas. As you know my brother started having some severe problems in April of this year. My mom and I have been going back and forth from Oregon to CA to care for him. On June 8th Mom and I drove down again to find Vince in the hospital undergoing surgery to remove the donor kidney. It was a week later that they told us the kidney was cancerous when it was transplanted. The cancer had metastasized to his nymphs and they gave us less than 6 months. For Vince it was less than two weeks. I can't tell you what he went through this last month. No human should ever have to go through the things he did. I will never regret being there and caring for my funny wonderful brother. Right to the end he was making us laugh. There are 6 of us. I am the oldest and Vince the youngest. As I did with my sister, Gayle, who passed away Dec 2009, Vince and I spoke on the phone almost everyday. I will never forget his laughter or goofy faces he made. I miss him. On the other side of this coin I know that he is with my sister, they are whole and happy and running though fields of wild flowers and they are together.
This is my dear brother.
Thanks for listening today.

I AM HOME

Hi Everyone!
Well I am home again. It feels strange to be here. Mike is happy though and my dog couldn't believe it was really me. LOL I have hundreds of emails and a few orders to get out. Unpack the suit case and a few boxes of things my brother gave to me. I will always cherish the time I had with him, caring for him, and loving him. Even in the last days he made us laugh. I will miss him. I know that he is OK though. No more pain, or suffering and the fact that he is with my sister makes me happy. However, enough is enough!!! Loosing a sister and brother in a 6 month span is all I can take. Vince's son, Nicholas, has gone to live with my other brother, Steve, in Spokane, WA. Please keep Nicholas in your prayers. He will need some tender loving care and some help in knowing how to live around people that are not sick. He is 16, mature in some ways and not in others. His laughter is catching and he loves his video games. A great kid that I wish I had the space to bring him here with me.
And......So life goes on.

Thank you just doesn't seem good enough for the love and caring that all of you have sent my way. I know you will all be blessed.

VINCE IS GONE

Hi Everyone!
It has been awhile since I have posted. My regular readers know that I have been in Sacramento taking care of my brother, Vince. He passed over to the other side Sunday, July 4th. I was with him through is last breath. I know my sister, Gayle, was holding her hand out to him and now they are playing in a field of yellow flowers. I will never regret taking time from my life to care for my sweet wonderful brother. It is my blessed honor to have known him and loved him his whole life.
He knew that all of you were praying for him and many times he said, "Be sure to thank everyone for me." So from Vince, me, and my family thank you for all of your prayers, glowing light of energy, blessed wishes and good thoughts.
I will be home this week
