COUNT DOWN TO JAPAN

Hi Everyone!

Well I think I am over the sickness but I am not taking any chances. A storm rolled in last night and the weather is definitely winter. I am staying indoors and away from people until Friday. Everything is ready to be packed, passport and IDs are all in order, Yen, US dollars, and of course the credit card are all tucked safe away. To start our trip, Charmain will pick me up Friday morning for a fun filled drive north up the OR. coast to Portland. There we will meet up with Kim, from the US Bead Warehouse, and her mom, who will be joining us. Another Kim from Tambrook beads and her husband will meet us on Saturday at the airport. My stomach is filled with butterflies of excitement. I will be taking hundreds of photos to share with all of you when I return on Oct 31. BTW Oct 31 is my most favorite day of the year.

FEELING BETTER

Hi Everyone!
I am feeling much better today. Thank you for all of the emails and lovely healing energy sent my way. It is wonderful to know how many people I have in my cyber family. So thanks to all of you.
Last week before I got sick, I was visiting my mom. Here is photos of us. She is the most active 80 year old I know. We have so much fun together!

I just got back from getting my hair cut. Haaaa call me "flat top" LOL!!!

WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT?

Hi Everyone!
Last week I had several stores I had to stop in for, you know, the everyday little things. Every checker in every store I went to was SICK! I don't mean just not feeling well. I mean coughing, sneezing, runny nose, red eyes and NO hand cleaner anywhere to be seen. One guy actually had a piece of cloth tucked under his collar and when he coughed up "crap" he pulled the cloth and spit it out. OMG!!!!!! I picked up my items and went to another checker. So I realize that none of these people have sick days, or insurance to take days off. However, this is just insane!!!! So I went to visit my mom and the last day there I felt a bit of a scratchy throat. I started downing herbal wellness pills and hoped for the best. Of course this morning I am sick. I have one week to get well before we leave for Japan. I guess I will be wearing a mask on the plain. What a shame on our country that people have to work sick.
Please send up healing prayers for me.

BABY SNAKE

Hi Everyone!
Just returned home from my mom's. A great visit as always. Mike got the yard ready for winter and while he was raking leaves came across this little one. If you read my blog posts you know snakes and I are great friends. This baby was so small but already brilliant in all manner. The colors were so bright and his underside was a pale teal color. I let him go only after a few minutes of play time with him. He was not at all unhappy or stressed. For me, a wonder to hold reptiles.

GETTING THE BEAD ON

Hi Everyone!
Yesterday, FAB, the Florence Area Beaders spent most of the late afternoon and evening at the Florence public Library. I went in early to say hi, not many people were there yet. However, there is nothing like getting together just to bead, and share stories, and be with good people who love beads.

Mother Earth Supplies Art Materials

Hi Everyone!

I have been very busy getting ready for Japan. We leave in 11 days! The weather has been so beautiful this fall, warm with no wind. Yessss. I did manage to get a lot done this summer, one being gathering and drying kelp. I was told kelp had to be dried on the beach. Haaaa don't tell me I can't do something. The kelp I gathered dried just fine in my back yard. No odor either. Here are a few of the pieces. They are now ready to incorporate into art pieces. This winter will be filled with new projects.

This is truly a great buy with all lampwork glass beads, fused pendants, and cabs. As I am going through boxes of beads I keep adding to the bag. This will be such a great surprise to the one that gets it. Also I just found a box of Toho size 11/o seed beads that I will be listing this week. Great fall colors. 28 YEARS

Hi Everyone!

When I was a kid my parents and grandparent would tell me to take advantage of my days because once they are gone there is no going back and as you get older the years fly by. Well, they were right. Years do fly by. One day I met a guy named Mike, and 28 years later we are celebrating that day? As I look back over everything we have been through the happy times do outweigh the hardships we have overcome. It is also nice after 28 years to hear, "you are more beautiful today than the day I met you" How nice is that? So what did we do to celebrate. We spent the day on the cost. We drove over to Yachats. Several people were Salmon fishing and one guy caught a nice one!

This is the guy that caught the Salmon.

This guy's dog was awesome and very well behaved.
Mike getting a bit too close to the edge.

Our destination for the day was Depot Bay. There is a great place to eat that over looks the Pacific where the whales come to play. OK, so they were playing somewhere else that day, however, we had a great meal and a fun time. We walked main street and visited the shops there. One thing about the Oregon coast all the towns have what is referred to as an "Old Town" You know unique shops and nice people.
28 years and with luck we have a few more happy years.

JEWERLY FOR 2010

Hi Everyone!
As a jewelry designer I keep my eyes on the BIG fashion shows, New York, Paris, Tokyo and so on. BIG seems to still be the tread. Anything that is large and chunky, or large and flat, or even large and dangly continues to be in for 2010. For me that is fantastic. Most of my art gallery and shop pieces are just that. Here are a few photos that may inspire you. 2010 is just around the corner so think BIG
