Feeling Better Friday

Good Morning and I do mean good. Today is the first morning that I have woke and feeling pretty good since my surgery. So I have made this "Feeling Better Friday". I want to thank each and everyone of you for the wonderful emails and all the cute e-cards. It truly warms my heart to know I have made so many caring friends through this world we call cyber. As you can imagine I am so far behind in EVERYTHING! Hopefully I will be able to stay out of bed to get a few things done around here. Thanks to my dear husband I did not have to worry about house cleaning, laundry, or even the grocery shopping. I think I will just give all those duties to him full time. Hee hee hee.
Have a wonderful Friday

A Quick Post

Hi All.
Sorry I have been away for the past few days. Last Thursday I had oral surgery. It was more extensive than the doctor first thought so I am still down and out. Thank you for all the kind emails and the well wishes. As soon as I can stay up for more than a few minutes I will be back with some new artists to share with you and some free beading patterns.

A GREAT WAY TO START MY WEEK

One of the nicest people I have met through blogging is Susan from Hot Rocks. Not only is she a kind and giving person, she is an amazing bead artists. When you visit her blog at http://hotrocksglassjewels.blogspot.com/ be sure to read her profile. She loves music and you can see in her work that she seems to incorporate musical notes into her jewelry. Jewelry that has the spirit of singing and dancing, how wonderful is that?

Wonderful for me is that Susan has honored me with this award. What a great way for me to start out my week. Thank you Susan for thinking of me. Here are the rules associated with this award.

When I decided to start my Beadwright Beading business in 1986 there was a special woman in my life who saw something in my art that inspired her. She introduced me to the people I needed to know. She opened doors for me that would have been very difficult if not impossible for me to find much less go through. I have always given my dear friend Bonny this credit. Because of her I had the courage to sell my work all over the world to shops, galleries, and museums. Sometimes one just needs the right place, time, and person to be a success. That has been my desire. I am always looking for and then promoting artists in any venue. Blogging has allowed me to do more of this with fantastic artists such as

My hope, my dream is that I can inspire, give strength, and courage to artists to walk through the doors of success.
So I am opening the award door and presenting this award to 6 very deserving people.

3. Rachel Obrien
4. Ask Szarka
5. Valleri Aharoni

Life Long Friends

I know that most of you will agree and know exactly what I am talking about. I have been on line since 1996. Over the last 13 years I have met some of the most extraordinary people. Until recently I lived in North Idaho, in a small town high in the mountains, with a population of 800. I do believe that included the cats and dogs. LOL. If it were not for cyber friends I just might have gone crazy. (ssshhh crazier than I already am) Some of these unseen comrades have been in my life for 10 or more years living all over the world. For me the Internet and cyber friends have been the main stay of my life. I feel connected not only to people but to places as well. However, over the last few years I have been involved with a group of incredible women from my etsy team, Artisan Beaders Street Team "absteam". Right now there are 17 of us who have banned together to become not only team members but good friends. All of them are the finest artists in their fields and bring to the art world a passion that shows in every piece they create. They make me laugh, and bring joy to my world. We have all shared the most intimate secrets and have held strong when times seemed impossible. We even shared the passing of one of our dear members a few short months ago. We are a TEAM of women who have come together through cyberspace and time to form this bond that I know will last a life time. You many know some of these fine ladies, if not allow me to introduce them to you. The Internet, it can be a very good thing.

Color for 2009

Every year a new color is chosen for the design industry. Carl Stadt is the authority and sets the standards through Pantone paints and X Rite. http://www.pantone.com/. http://www.xrite.com/. For 2009 Pantone Mimosa yellow was his choice. OK so yellow is NOT my favorite color. Carl's reason behind it that this color is warm with nurturing qualities and that is what is needed in these difficult economic times. For my hard economic times the color yellow will not do a thing for me. OK OK, so I don't like yellow. My reason... well with my Italian complexion I can not ware yellow, washes me right out. I dislike yellow in my house especially my kitchen and well unless it is in a flower it is a difficult color to work with. I think there should be an alternative color of the year. Mine would be a light Aqua. Silky, watery, flowing, Aqua. Now to me that is soothing. So let me know if you Mimosa yellow is a color you like or would work with in your designs and if not what would your alternative color be. Remember all comments are sent to our cyber hat for a chance to win free beads or beading supplies.

ArtFire Comes to the Rescue

OK, so don't get tired of me writing about ArtFire. However, I know that most of you have been on Internet selling sites for many years. How many times have you had a problem and not been able to resolve it? How many hours did you spend on the computer looking through the "help" or the "forums" of a particular site only to be so frustrated you wanted to throw something? When you clicked on "contact us" there is only an unidentified email that will take at least 24 hours to even have some one read. Well I am here to tell you that at ArtFire that is not the case! I had my first two buyers the other day and things got a bit messy. The shopping cart didn't preform as it should have and well it wasn't a fun shopping day. The ladies buying are long time customers of mine with a simple email between us, their orders were filled. However, I want an on line store that works. Under "contact us" with ArtFire you have a choice of emails or calling. I did the email and was so surprised when the situation was taken care of almost immediately. Later in the day I did speak with Jessica from ArtFire. She is so determined to keep things running smoothly and to make everyone at ArtFire happy. Again I LOVE ARTFIRE!!!!! Head over and check it out. Sign up and remember to use me Beadwright as your referral. I know you will enjoy the shopping there and then start selling your own items. Handmade only.
